How to Tame a Wild Tongue

How to Tame a Wild Tongue was a very interesting read for me. I related to the text very well because I too was once caught speaking different language in school. In second grade, after transferring from a private school to a public school I met my 1st friend, David, who happened to be the only white kid in the class with me. We both realized we came from Russian speaking families when our grandfathers picked us up from school and would joke around with each other speaking the Russian language . We used the language as a way to communicate with each other in school. It was the coolest thing ever having to say whatever you want and not having anyone around you but your best friend understand. One day during silent reading, David and I sat down next to each other and the teacher quickly separated us. When we asked why she said "Both of you boys are always speaking a different language and others find it offensive, if I hear another non English word out of your mouths you're both  going to the principle and will be expelled". There david and I looked at each other completely scared out of our six year old self's, and never spoke a lick of Russian in school again.
